FAQ about Internship

The hiring of interns is regulated by the Brazilian Internship Law (No. 11.788/2008), which establishes that they must be enrolled in an educational institution and that the internship must be linked to their area of study. The internship contract does not create an employment relationship, and the company must enter into a term of commitment with the intern and the educational institution.

The workload of an intern is limited by law. For students of higher education, technical or high school, the workday can be up to 6 hours a day and 30 hours a week. For students with special education or the final years of elementary school, the maximum workload is 4 hours a day and 20 hours a week.

Obligations include the payment of a stipend and, if the internship is not mandatory, transportation allowance. The company must also provide accident insurance and ensure that the internship is related to the intern's course. In addition, it is necessary to supervise the intern's activities and carry out periodic evaluations.
