Do social networks value or devalue your personal brand?

It is a fact that we live in a “big brother” era, everyone is connected and the saying “those who are not seen are not remembered” has never been so expressive!  But we need to be careful with overexposure and not just for a personal marketing strategy, but also for safety reasons. We’ve put together some tips to help you!

1) Relevant Content

Relevant content is what your “audience” wants to consume! It could be a cool video, an interesting photo, a report, a trip you took, a walk with your children, a positive message, etc. Before publishing, think about your network of contacts, the people who can access your profile and understand if that post will be good for the people who see it!

2) Just because your profile is private doesn’t mean it’s really private

You may have already heard that there is no such thing as private on social media, right? Imagine the following situation: On that profile you follow, a new story appeared that you found interesting and decided to share with a friend. Then the friend returns you with the message “private”. What do you do? Print the screen and send the image to him! Therefore, the private no longer exists, do you agree? Always evaluate before publishing and remember anything can become public!

3) Controversial publications and always complaining

Controversial publications (texts that are prejudiced or that insult a specific group, photos with a lot of exposure or images that suggest abusive consumption of alcohol or drugs, heated discussions) can all compromise your evaluation, especially if you are looking for a new job.   Complaining about the weather can also give a bad impression. The logic is simple: no one likes to have someone around who is always dissatisfied, who complains about the weather, the traffic, the TV schedule, politics, the dollar, the boss... this person will probably be unhappy with their daily tasks.

Choose neutral profiles with positive content and then go online!
